The answer is to collect it with food waste and send it to a facility that composts or digests it under the right conditions. If your cafe, canteen or event has switched to compostable cups, containers and cutlery, we give them a route that lives up to the packaging's promise, rather than ending up in general waste like everything else.

Vegware Recycling, common questions.
Can Vegware go in normal recycling?
No. It is not plastic or paper and contaminates those streams. It needs to go with food waste to a composting or anaerobic digestion facility, which is exactly the route we provide.
Does all compostable packaging work the same way?
We handle certified compostable foodservice items like Vegware. Check the packaging is labelled industrially compostable; we can advise on what your suppliers should be buying.
Can we mix compostables and food waste in one bin?
Yes, that is the point. Certified compostables and food waste go together into the same stream, which keeps it simple for your team.
Is this a commercial service or for households?
Commercial only. FJL is a business waste and recycling provider, not a domestic service. We collect from offices, shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels, warehouses, industrial units and trade sites. If you run a business and produce this waste, we can take it.
How does pricing work?
A clear monthly price based on the containers and collection frequency you need, with no long lock-ins. Fuel surcharges and any price changes are flagged in writing before they apply, and most businesses that switch to us pay less than they did before.
Do you provide the bins and containers?
Yes. We supply the right containers for the stream and your space as part of the service, from caddies and clear sacks to 240 to 1100 litre wheelie bins and larger containers for higher volumes.
How quickly can we start?
Usually within the same week. Call before 11am and we can often arrange a same-week start, and we will handle the changeover if you are leaving another provider.
